Child Literacy Champions

Thank you for your support!
Can you believe that right here in the U.S., one out of four (1 of 4) children will never learn to read[1]? Children who don’t read proficiently by third grade are likely to drop out of school[1]. Adults with low literacy levels earned lower wages and had higher unemployment rates compared to the national average[2]. Also, 70% of adults were typically on welfare and comprised 75% of the inmate population[2].

Did you know that 85% of a child's core brain structure developed by age three[3]? And if read to regularly, children will enhance their language, cognitive, and memory skills[3]. Thus, we can better a child’s future by instilling the love of reading at an early age. Let’s do this together.

Become a literacy champion. You can help by:

  1. Purchasing one or more of my books and sending directly to a child(ren).

  2. Donate books to teachers for their classrooms via donorschoose.com at https://www.donorschoose.org/

  3. And/or donate books to Bernie's Book Bank at https://www.berniesbookbank.org/. They provide books to families with at-risk infants, toddlers, and to school-age children.

  4. You may also donate funds to purchase books given free to daycares, classrooms, and at book fairs I support.
